Coffee in the Garage?

Savannah is a beautiful city, and I am quickly learning that it is also FULL of cute, little coffee shops!

Which, hellooo, do we know who we are talking to?!

Like, my blog is not called Lipstick & Lattes for nothing!

This adorable little coffee shop that I got to adventure to was called Perc Coffee. Perc reminded me a lot of one of my favorite coffee shops back home in Chicago, called River City Roasters.

When I first pulled up I had to double check to ensure that I didn’t drive completely past the shop, and I literally checked my GPS to make sure I was at the right place! This coffee shop was like nothing I’ve ever seen before; it was hidden inside of a old garage!

Yes, the garage was turned into a coffee shop!

Very rustic vibes, white, peeling brick walls, stickers all over the walls, and baristas dressed like hipsters.

I went with a new friend that I made in Savannah, and we both ordered sweetened condensed milk lattes. So good.

I mean, look at this latte art.

For my outfit of the day I wore my off the shoulder shirt with little tassels at the end (TJ Maxx), and my white shorts I got from Forever 21,

The link I provided for the shorts are sold out in white, and only available in the color Tomato.

I also wore my Tory Burch Flats.

Afterwards, we realized we were so hungry, so we stopped at this amazing, tiny lil burger place; where I had my first sweet tea in the South. 🙂

Spending the day at a cute, little coffee shop talking with a friend really helped me feel like I was right at home in Chicago. I love exploring new places and am so excited that I still have all of summer to explore to different adorable spots in Savannah.

Am I a Georgia Peach Yet??

It has been one week since I left Chicago and moved to Georgia, and within that week I have made some friends, found a new gym, gotten back to my Dog-Mom ways, and continued my caffeine addiction.

Before three weeks ago, I had never been on a plane before and the furthest place I’ve ever gone outside of Illinois was a fam vacay (we drove) to see more fam that lives in Tennessee.

That being said, being in a new environment is definitely a change for me. I had never seen a city outside of Chicago before, so seeing Savannah for the first time, as beautiful as it is, was a shocker!

Where are the skyscrapers?!

Taking a highway to get everywhere is a major change too; being so used to town, after town, after town. Don’t get me wrong, I’m used to highways, it’s the fact that you have to go from town, to town using them without a choice.

Everything is different, but different in a good way.

Living with my boyfriend is a blessing after being long distance for so long, and that is another reason why GA is so great.

I know the unexpected is yet to come, and yes it is scary, but it is also refreshing to know that I have a lifetime of adventures ahead of me. Day to day life can get easily caught up in routine, and as there is nothing wrong with that, it just sometimes leads to getting stuck in the same place.

Week one: Check.

I can’t wait to share the many adventures yet to come, and I will be sharing a lot of my day to day adventures in my Instagram story!

First Day of Sunshine

Happy Summer!!

Not *officially* summer in technical terms, but summer as in, no more classes, summer.

Sooo, in honor of the first day of summer, as tradition, my sister and I had to do what we do every first day of summer!

We spend the day at an adorable coffee shop called Cook Street Coffee.

What we love most about this adorable little coffee shop is that all of the sweeteners they use are all natural and it is located in Barrington, IL which is an adorable environment to be in.

Sister time is important and we highly respect that rule.

I opted for the vanilla bean latte (which, literally has real vanilla bean in it)! I totally forgot to ask them to make mine with almond milk, but being a barista in the past and understanded that I just simply needed to enjoy my latte the way lattes where intended to be made, it was delish.

Sister went for a hazlenut latte, and we shared this lemon cranberry muffin (10/10 would recommend).

My tote is from New York & Company, the one linked isn’t the exact, but it is extremely identical due to the fact that I bought this a long time ago!

Also, my romper is from a small boutique I found in Iowa City, so here, is a similar sleeveless version, and here is another similar long sleeve version!

You can find my sunglasses here

Then, just to top off our day, because why not, we went to Whole Foods.

What’s new?

Just picked up a few things, but Whole Foods has always had my heart. I love the atmosphere and the amazing people who work there, it just always puts you in an amazing mood!

So, why wouldn’t we go?!

The first day of summer set good intentions for the rest of the summer. We had an amazing day just spending time together, the weather was perfect (because we all know that Chicago would much rather be cold than warm)

*eye roll*

Cheers to an amazing summer!

If You Didn’t Drink a Pineapple Did You Vacay?

Is post-vacay depression a real thing?? Because this girl is feeling it right now.

Words cannot even describe how amazing this trip was, and how much I wish I were back by the ocean, drinking out of a pineapple again.

*A girl can dream, ok?*

Day 1:

Can you believe this was my FIRST plane ride EVER?!?

Yes, it took all of my twenty years of age to finally step foot in the air. (That makes sense right?)

So obvi being my first trip ever, a kiss was needed.

We left Chicago around 7pm on Thursday and got in to the Miami airport around midnight Miami time, waited about a good 45 minutes for our rental car, and finally went off to drive down to Islamorada.

When we finally arrived, around 3 in the morning, the first thing I see on the wall is a little baby lizard!

Can we just.

Day 2:

Entire outfit from TJ Maxx

Can you say humidity?

This Chicago girl is NOT used to this kind of heat.

Yes, it gets hot in Chicago in the summer, but can we just talk about the sweat and tears this heat can cause?!

Anyways, the heat was nothing compared to this view we had from the house we stayed at.

Major heart eyes.
We spent the first day swimming in the pool and tanning. We also took the boat up to a restaurant on the water and got to watch the beautiful sunset.

Day 3:

Day three was a day filled of sand bars, ocean water, and lots and lots of Despacito blasting from surrounding boats, also parked in the water at the sand bars.

Bathing suit is Forever 21

Day 4:

I still cannot even believe that this day happened.

I love, LOVE adventures. So when we got the opportunity to break free from the amazing group we were with, we took our chances.

We drove down, crossed over the Seven Mile Bridge, and decided to spend the day in Key West.

When we first got down, we went to this amazing Cuban restaurant called El Siboney, and asked the waitress to give us whatever she recommended.

Then we headed over to the Southernmost point of the US!

*Lil side note*

Here in the Chi, for attractions like The Bean, people completely crowd around and literally fight others over getting a picture with it first. HERE in the Key’s, literally everybody treats others with the respect they deserve and they will STAND IN A LINE TO TAKE TURNS !

Mind blowing.

After visiting the Southernmost point, I guess my puppy dog eyes worked because I wanted to drink out of a super cute pineapple. We got one!

Day four was our last night in the Keys, and when we got home we went wakeboarding on the boat, and then came home to ensure we had all of our belongings for our early day we had the following day.

This vacay was a much needed one, and I can’t believe it’s over already! I can’t wait for many more trips to come!
